8 Effective Home remedies for Acne

Home Remedy

Apple Cider Vinegar:
Apple cider vinegar (ACV) has the ability to fight many types of bacteria and viruses. It contains organic acids that are proven to kill the p. acne bacteria. “Succinic acid” present in ACV, is also helpful in suppressing the inflammation caused due to acne breakout. Additionally, ACV helps clear acne scars & dry up the excess oil that causes acne.
How to use: Take 10ml of ACV and dilute it with 40ml of water. Clean your face with a mild cleanser and dry it. Then apply this mixture to your face using a cotton ball. Leave it for 20-60 seconds and then rinse with water. Repeat this 1-2 times a day.

Aloe vera:
Aloe vera is a natural antibacterial which also has anti-inflammatory property. It can reduce the acne breakout. Aloe vera is also an excellent moisturizer, which will give your face a fresh look.
How to use: Wash your face with a mild cleanser and let it dry naturally. Apply aloe vera gel (not with additives) on the skin/face and leave it for 1-2 hours. You can also apply aloe vera overnight and the next morning can rinse it with cold water. Repeat this process 2-3 times a week.

Honey:
Honey can be also helpful in treating skin conditions like acne. It has anti-bacterial property and in the old days, doctors were using this to treat wounds.
How to use: Take 10-20ml of pure honey and apply it to your face using fingers or cotton ball. Leave it for 1-2 hours and then wash it off with a mild cleanser.

Garlic:
Garlic is used by many traditional practitioners to treat infections. Garlic contains a chemical compound called “organosulfur”, which helps in killing bacteria. It can also be used in boosting your body’s immune system to fight with disease and infections.
How to use: Include garlic in your daily diet or consume 2-3 raw garlic cloves daily for better results.

Green Tea:
Green tea is loaded with antioxidants and drinking it regularly can help in boosting the immunity system and can lead to good health. Also, “Flavonoids and Tannins” present in green tea are known to fight bacteria & reducing inflammation. It also helps in reducing sebum production which reduces the risk of acne.
How to use: Deep a green tea bag to hot water for 4-5 minutes and then let the tea cool. Using a cotton ball apply the green tea to the skin. Allow it to dry for 20-30 minutes and then rinse it with cold water. Repeat this process 2-3 times a week.

Tea tree oil:
Tea tree oil is known for its ability to fight bacteria and in reducing skin inflammation.
How to use: Mix 5ml of tea tree oil to 50ml of water. Apply this mixture to acne areas with a cotton ball.

Adding Zinc to your diet:
Zinc is an essential nutrient that helps in cell growth, immunity-boosting, and hormone production. Including zinc in your daily diet is proven to reduce the risk of acne breakout. Include foods such as nuts, lentils, oatmeal, yogurt in your daily diet.
You can also take zinc supplements. But remember that the daily dose of zinc for a healthy adult is 40mg. So, do not exceed that amount without consulting with a doctor.

Clean your face Regularly:
Cleansing and exfoliating help removing the dead skin cells from your skin as well as cleaning the pores. Therefore, always use a chemical-free ayurvedic face cleanser and exfoliator to clean your face regularly. Or you can make your face scrub easily at home.
Baking soda scrub: Take 2 tablespoon of baking soda and add 1 tablespoon of water to it. Mix it well and apply this mixture to your face and scrub it gently in a circular motion. Leave it for 10-15 minutes and then rinse it with cold water. This will remove dead skin cells as well as clean up the pores reducing the chances of acne.
